Municipal Building
City Hall and Council Chamber
The City Hall was built in 1965, located at the junction of South Park Row and State Street, Erie, PA. City Hall accommodates the Erie Police Department, the Department of Treasury, and the City Council Chamber.
Project:
Municipal Building
A city’s image is not one constructed overnight, it is built slowly as impression stacks on impression in the minds of those that pass through.
Type:
Public
These impressions are gathered and transferred until an identity is constructed, alive and dynamic in the minds of the public.
Size:
25,000 sqft
The design for Erie’s municipal building was one that takes existing impressions or elements of the city, and cultivates them into something fresh and growing.
Budget:
$3.5 Million
The wave design used in the ceiling is drawn from the town’s iconic shorelines and tumultuous blue lake.
Status:
In Progress
With an open hall for the council meetings, and a repeating circular design element emphasizing unity between city officials and citizens, the building creates an environment that peacefully facilitates community interactions.
Location:
Erie, Pennsylvania
The layout of the building is carefully formulated to inspire confidence that the city works in the public's best interest.
