According to statistics and observation, the Chow Kit area has been found to harbor an idle demographic. The presence of these individuals has a direct correlation to the increase in crime in the area leading to a decrease in safety and fear among the citizens that reside there. How can one solve this problem?

Rather than a closed-off building of exclusion, this design proposes floor to ceiling glass with a transparent balcony facing the city park where children are playing. This will allow younger children to visually experience the inclusion of the academy and spark a desire in them to be a part. Adding a structure around the building and above the water feature, where ivy creeps up the steel beams, can help to divide the city from the academy with a more calming sensitivity to boundaries. Accessing the music studios is a calming experience because you are surrounded by ivy and the gentle sound of falling water. A pioneering and innovative approach to call children, mainly through music made by nature.

The large pivoting door will divide the space if there is a formal performance and create a hallway to reach the administrative part of the academy. Attacking idleness through the arts. Various research has shown the arts as a proper and safe channel for children to express their frustrations while calming their inner demons. Providing an area where these children and youth can be actively engaged will reduce crime. The performance center is located in the heart of the academy, it is separated into a formal auditorium and informal open space where you can sit on the grass or rocks to watch the performance.

The open space is a safe and healthy environment for children to play while still hearing the melodies within. Seats have been integrated into stairs allowing occupants to sit and watch the show through the glass wall. Proposing a 3-meter high water feature which produces a calming tune by virtue of its height, the idea is to flip a water fountain upside down and add wind chimes around the vicinity.

Repeating the vertical elements will separate the parking lot and the administration offices, providing a safe entrance for personnel. The ramp is located on top of the water feature where it connects the music studios to the first floor.
